During this time, thieves also stole gold chains from the necks of more than six female devotees in the temple premises. After this, the aggrieved devotees created a ruckus in the temple premises and the university police station.
The victimized women say that the chain has been pulled towards the priest of the temple and not from behind. At the same time, the purses of many women have been cut with blades. The aggrieved devotees alleged that when they asked the Shyama Mai Trust Committee to show them the CCTV camera footage, they were given a deferral and were asked to come tomorrow, which further increased their anger. Meanwhile, many devotees started pushing and shoving the priest who was conducting the puja in the temple. Despite the information, the police of dial 112 reached the police station located in the temple premises, but the police of the police station could not reach.
The victim woman devotee, Lalita Devi, a local resident of Hasanchak, said that she comes here every New Year. Today, when she was doing puja, she felt that someone was pulling her neck chain from the front. By the time she could see, the thieves had removed the chain from her neck.
At the same time, in this regard, an absurd statement has come from Pandit Kamalakant Jha, Vice President of Shyama Trust Committee. In fact, he said that people should leave their belongings at home before coming to the temple. If they have worn something in the temple then they should protect it themselves.
SHO Madan Prasad of the police station himself reached the temple premises with the team force. Despite this, the victims did not get any benefit from it. The wires of CCTV cameras installed inside the temple were found broken. In this case no video clip was found. Some CCTVs of the premises were running outside the temple, efforts are being made to identify the thieves. It is believed that the people who carried out this incident cut the CCTV wire. Then the incident was carried out so that no evidence could be found.
